Fluany
Privacy
Your cards and settings stay in your browser. Fluany has no account, no analytics and no ads. The only thing that can reach us is your email, and only if you type it in.
What the extension keeps
Your decks, cards, review history and settings are saved with chrome.storage.local, on your computer. We never receive them. Uninstalling Fluany deletes them, so export a backup first if you want to keep them.
Pages you visit
Fluany asks for access to all sites so it can show cards, translate words and mark the words you are learning on the page. It reads the page text inside your browser to do that. Page text, URLs and browsing history are not sent anywhere.
Translation
Translations come from the translator built into Chrome and run on your computer. Chrome may download a language model from Google the first time you use a language pair.
If that translator is not available, Fluany shows a Google Translate link. Clicking it opens Google Translate in a new tab with the word or phrase you picked, and nothing else. Google's own privacy policy applies there.
Your email (optional)
If you sign up on the welcome page or on this site, we store:
- your email address
- the language you picked (English, Spanish or Portuguese)
- your operating system, when you sign up from the extension
- where you signed up and when
